My name is Diane and I am a Masters level qualified and ACA registered Counsellor. For almost 30 years I have supported people from diverse backgrounds experiencing circumstances that require emotional support, guided understanding and practical, strength-based solutions.

My experience includes domestic and family violence, separation, parenting, family systems, addiction, workplace injury, chronic or terminal illness, bereavement, grief and loss. I focus on identity and lived experience, with attention to the intersections of privilege and adversity. Your story, intergenerational influences, and relationship to your world matters.

I use a variety of methodologies, depending on your needs and what you resonate with, as I believe in client-led and person-centred care. I use a holistic, Humanist, Existential and Biopsychosocial lens to encourage clarity, processing and decision-making. Our therapeutic relationship will be based on mutual resonance, connection, trust, empathy and transformation. I hope that no matter how long or short a time we spend together, that you will receive a valuable and constructive experience that includes recovery through my primary skills of empathy, collaborative treatment planning and goal setting.

My focus is on broadening perspectives, processing life’s significant changes, and reframing challenges using frameworks that are culturally sensitive, trauma-informed and intersectional. My preferred interventions and methodologies are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Systems/Internal Family Systems, Somatic Awareness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Psychoeducation and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

I am passionate about social and emotional wellbeing, client service, organisational ethics, and building rapport in a trustful therapeutic alliance. I hope to bring wisdom, compassion, strength, and resilience to our Counselling relationship.

I am a parent to three children, including twins. I enjoy swimming in the ocean, yoga, meditation, crocheting and reading.
