As someone from an immigrant background, I understand how exhausting it can be to live between cultures while trying to hold everything together. You may feel torn between family duty and personal freedom, between caring for others and caring for yourself. Many people I work with are balancing marriage, parenting, work or study, and the expectations that come with being a daughter, partner, parent, or professional in both Chinese and Australian contexts.

This can look like supporting parents who do not speak English and rely on you to navigate life in Australia, managing tension with in-laws, or facing conflict with your partner about parenting, family roles, or cultural values. You may also be carrying the emotional weight of a parent’s mental health or physical health concerns while trying to stay present in your own relationship, career, and family life. Outside the home, there may be workplace pressure, subtle racism, discrimination, or the constant strain of trying to interpret unspoken cultural rules. Over time, these experiences can lead to anxiety, low mood, isolation, guilt, resentment, and a sense of being unseen.

My work is grounded in creating a safe, culturally sensitive space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. I draw on Internal Family Systems (IFS), trauma-informed practice, person-centred therapy, and cognitive behavioural approaches to help you make sense of your experiences and move toward healing and change.
