“We are all just searching for that tiny space, perhaps a hole, that gives us shelter from the difficulties of the world.” For me, therapy can be one of those spaces: a place where a person can pause, feel safe, and begin to understand themselves with more compassion.

I am a mental health counsellor with a Master of Counselling from Monash University and a Master of Islamic Studies. I am registered with the Australian Counselling Association as an ACA Level 3 counsellor. I work with adults from diverse cultural backgrounds and aim to offer a warm, supportive, and non-judgemental space where you feel seen, heard, validated, and understood.

My approach is eclectic, person-centred, and trauma-informed. I am interested in the person behind the difficulty, not just the difficulty itself. Rather than asking, “What is wrong with you?”, I am guided by the question, “What have you been through?” I draw from humanistic, emotion-focused, existential, and strengths-based approaches to support clients in exploring their experiences, understanding their needs, and reconnecting with their own inner voice.

I am deeply mindful of the role that culture, family, religion, identity, and values can play in mental health and healing. My own lived experience has helped me understand how important cultural context can be in the way people carry pain, seek support, and make meaning of their lives. For clients who request it, I can also integrate Islamic psychology and faith-sensitive reflections into therapy in a respectful and client-led way. Outside of clinical work, I value learning, reading, faith and spiritual reflection, family and community.
