Why choose a therapist who speaks your language
Express emotions naturally
No searching for words. Say what you mean, how you mean it.
Build trust quickly
A shared language helps the therapeutic relationship form faster.
Deep emotional access
Your first language connects directly to core memories and emotions.
No translation needed
Spend your session feeling, not translating.
We don’t just think in a language, we feel it
Our stories, memories and emotions live in the words that shaped us. When you speak your native language, you express yourself without filters or hesitation. You connect more deeply, more honestly, more naturally.
That’s why Equana Minds exists. We bring together therapists who speak your language and understand your culture. Every session should feel like a space where you don’t have to explain yourself: you can simply be yourself.

Reasons to come to therapy
There is no “big” or “small” problem. You can simply talk about what’s going on in your life.
What to expect in a session
Sessions are relaxed, confidential and guided by evidence-based or recognised therapeutic approaches. You’re welcome to talk about how you’re feeling, what’s been happening and what you hope to work on. Your therapist will get to know you, listen and support you at your own pace.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between AHPRA registered psychologists and overseas qualified therapists?
In Australia, “psychologist” is a legally protected title and only practitioners registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) can use it and offer psychological services. AHPRA registration indicates a practitioner has met Australian standards of education, training and professional conduct. All clinicians that are referred to as psychologists at Equana Minds are AHPRA registered.
All our overseas therapists and counsellors hold relevant degrees and licenses in their home countries and practice as counsellors or therapists for Equana Minds. Our strict internal process ensures all our overseas therapists are qualified and have extensive experience.
Additionally, our Australian-based therapists and counsellors hold relevant qualifications, experience and registration with national board bodies.
Therapists and counsellors provide counselling or therapy under appropriate titles and within the scope of their qualifications. We clearly label each clinician’s registration status so you can make informed choices about what support is right for you.
What services do you provide and who are your therapists?
We offer a range of mental health support services for individuals and couples, supporting a range of different mental health issues and situations. Our multilingual clinicians include registered psychologists and clinical psychologists (AHPRA registered in Australia), who provide a comprehensive range of psychological services via online telehealth sessions.
Our Australian based and registered counsellors offer online counselling and psychotherapy sessions, and our highly qualified and experienced overseas based therapists provide mental health support in your preferred language.
For crisis and emergencies
Our online practice is not a crisis line. If you are in immediate danger, call 000. For 24/7 crisis support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.
If you are located overseas, please call your local emergency services number or mental health crisis hotline.
What about telehealth, privacy and data security?
We use Zanda as our telehealth and practice management software. Zanda is a secure, ISO 27001, HIPAA and Australian Privacy Principles compliant telehealth platform. All confidential patient data is stored within this system. You can learn more about Zanda privacy and security here.
How do I book an appointment?
At the moment, the first step is to Get In Touch using the form below. We will then reach out to ask you some more questions about yourself, what brings you to therapy, your preferences and what your goals are. This will allow us to match you with the right therapist for you. You will then be invited to book online a session with your therapist.
In the coming months (early 2026!), the full online services will become available, meaning you will be able to Get Matched and book a session online, or Browse and choose a therapist and book a session online. You’ll be able to select your preferred language, therapist, and time zone.
